Former Player And Manager To Depart After Season Ending Match

Roberto De Zerbi Leaves Brighton by Mutual Consent

Former Player and Manager to Depart After Season-Ending Match

Announcement Follows a Successful but Short-Lived Tenure

Brighton, England - Brighton & Hove Albion have announced that Roberto De Zerbi will depart as head coach after the club's final match of the season against Manchester United on Sunday.

De Zerbi, who took over from Graham Potter in September 2022, has led Brighton to some impressive results during his tenure. Under his guidance, the Seagulls reached the fifth round of the FA Cup and recorded notable league wins over Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City.

However,Brighton have also struggled for consistency under De Zerbi, winning just six of their last 17 Premier League matches. This has led to the mutual decision to part ways, according to club owner Tony Bloom.

"Roberto has given us two excellent seasons," Bloom said. "He has helped us to play some of the most exciting football in the Premier League and has been a great asset to the club. However, we feel that now is the right time for a change."

De Zerbi expressed his gratitude to Brighton in a statement released by the club. "I want to thank everyone at Brighton for the opportunity to manage this great club," he said. "I have enjoyed my time here and wish the club all the best in the future."

Brighton's search for a new head coach is likely to begin immediately. Roberto De Zerbi's departure leaves a significant void to fill, and it will be interesting to see who the Seagulls appoint to lead them into the next chapter.
